Fehler: “An error occurred. Please try again.” in EE

Bei einigen Connections 5 Installation zeigte mir die Embedded Experience im Activity Stream folgenden Fehler: “An error occurred. Please try again.”. Wirklich eingrenzen ließ sich das Problem nicht. Verschiedene User, verschiedene Browser. Das Problem tritt nur bei der Nutzung von mod_deflate (GZIP) am IBM HTTP Server auf, welches ich eigentlich fast immer aktiviere.

Das SystemOut.log zeigt folgende Fehlermeldung:

{“error”:{“code”:”Unauthorized”,”message”:”Unauthorized”},”request”:{“handleAs”:”text”,”url”:”https://cnx5.nme.local/news/oauth/web/statusUpdateEE.action?id=8ac07aee-12c5-4815-84c3-b38fc49b4336&commentCount=5&preventCache=1409847151520″,”preventCache”:true,”requireData”:true,”headers”:{“Accept-Language”:”en”},”sign_viewer”:false,”sign_owner”:false,”OAUTH_SERVICE_NAME”:”connections_service”,”AUTHORIZATION”:”OAUTH2″,”dfd”:{“promise”:{},”fired”:1},”origFormat”:”text”,”CONTENT_TYPE”:”TEXT”,”REFRESH_INTERVAL”:-1,”GET_FULL_HEADERS”:true,”HEADERS”:{“Accept-Language”:”en”},”METHOD”:”GET”,”responseHeaders”:{“cache-control”:[“no-cache”],”pragma”:[“no-cache”],”date”:[“Thu, 04 Sep 2014 16:12:31 GMT”]}},”response”:{“text”:””,”rc”:403,”headers”:{“cache-control”:[“no-cache”],”pragma”:[“no-cache”],”date”:[“Thu, 04 Sep 2014 16:12:31 GMT”]},”oauthError”:”fetch_problem”,”oauthErrorText”:””,”oauthErrorTrace”:”\n”,”oauthErrorUri”:””,”oauthErrorExplanation”:”An error occurred when issuing the OAuth2Request fetch.”,”errors”:[“403 Error”]}}

Lösung war ein exkludieren der Deflate Option für  die Gadget URL. Dies ist über folgenden Zeile in der Deflate Konfiguration möglich:

SetEnvIfNoCase Request_URI /connections/opensocial/gadgets/* no-gzip dont-vary

  1. Thanks a lot Nico. Had a similar issue today. However in this case there was no DEFLATE module active. But the Load Balancer has been configured to do compression between client and LB which led to the same issue ;-) After disabling the compression on the LB everything worked.
