In my last post Using IBM Connections 5.5 Type-ahead in your environment – Part 1 I wrote about using the Solr/Connections integration on Windows OS. In this post, I will provide some informations about starting and stopping Solr on Linux.
If you would like to start Solr on Linux, you can use the provided script “start-solr.sh”. You are able to stop the Solr process without killing it. Therefore you need to customize the script by adding some additional parameter to the last line:
You can create a “stop-solr.sh” script based on the provided “start-solr.sh” script. After this, you have to edit the last line:
nohup $JAVA_HOME/bin/java -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=mysecret -jar start.jar --stop >/dev/null 2>&1 &
